Life can be difficult, our thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming, this could be from current changes that you find unable to cope with, difficulty with relationships or more longer-term issues such as past trauma. Whatever you are struggling with, it does not have to be that way, the BACP member and registered therapists at Burton Counselling & Psychotherapy can help.

The terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably. Counselling typically involves shorter term, specific difficulties, or surface issues whereas psychotherapy often refers to more deep-rooted issues that may require longer term support. Both involve talking with a trained professional about your problems. This process relies on evidence-based models and theories that help you to understand the nature of your problems and enable you to make positive changes.

What can I expect from counselling and psychotherapy sessions?
