Debra Laking, Dip, MBACP

Debra  is a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Certificate in Couples Therapy. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adheres to it's ethical framework.

As an integrative humanistic therapist, Debra primarily follows the Person-Centred Approach, while also incorporating Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. This flexible, client-led approach allows her to tailor therapy to each individual's or couple’s unique needs, always rooted in empathy, respect, and self-awareness.

Debra provides a safe, confidential space for individuals and couples to explore their thoughts and emotions, supporting them in making informed decisions that align with their personal values. She has extensive experience helping clients navigate grief and loss, ill health, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life’s everyday challenges. In her work with couples, she focuses on conflict resolution, improving communication, healing emotional wounds, and, when needed, navigating relationship endings with compassion.

With 30 years of experience supporting individuals during difficult times—through her work in charities, public services, teaching, coaching, and management—Debra brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to her counselling practice. She has previously provided counselling at Derby Women's Centre and Cruse Bereavement Support, further deepening her expertise in supporting those facing loss and adversity.

Kyriaki (Kiki) Tsimpouki, BSc, MSc, MBACP (Accred)

Kiki holds an MSc Dist. in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Certificate in Person- Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (BACP accredited) and a Certificate in Couples Therapy. Kiki is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follows their guidelines and codes of ethics. Kiki also holds a BSc degree in Psychology and an advanced specialist training status in supervision with Cruse Bereavement Care and the National Counselling Society (NCS).

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Kiki integrates clinically tested psychological treatments including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Attachment Theory. Claire Katulushi, PG Dip, BACP

Claire is currently completing an MSc in integrated Counselling and Psychotherapy and is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their guidelines and ethics.

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, Claire uses Attachment Theory, Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in her practice. Claire provides a safe, non judgemental environment to explore your difficulties and gain understanding of your experiences by tailoring her approach to meet your needs.

Claire has four years experience working in end of life care, mental health supported living and mental health hospital settings. During this time she supported service users with various physical and mental diagnoses, prioritising empathy, understanding and safety.

Claire has also previously provided counselling through Derby Women’s Centre.

Alana Probart, Dip, MBACP

Alana is a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Alana is an Integrative Counsellor, her core approach is Person- Centred theory but she also utilises techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support you in a way that best suits you.

Alana’s aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to explore your experiences, at your own pace, in your own way. Whether you’re working through challenges related to identity, relationships, mental health or life transitions, Alana is here to walk alongside you with warmth, openness and respect.

Alana brings to her counselling practice a strong background in disability and neurodivergence, which has deeply shaped her understanding of the different ways people experience the world. Colette Robinson, Dip, MBACP

Colette holds a level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling practice accredited by the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). Colette is trained in Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), and also has a strong interest in attachment therapy. Colette is also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Baixuan Shen (Shen), MSc, BSc, BACP

Shen is currently working towards an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy through the university of Derby, and is a student member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), following their guidelines and ethics. Shen also holds an MSc in Psychology of Mental Health (Conversion) and Bachelor degrees in Sociology and Law. She has a broad understanding of different cultures and phenomenology, which facilitates her understanding of clients’ needs from diverse perspectives.

As an integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Shen integrates Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). By combining these modalities Shen tailors her approach to fit with the clients' needs.  Shen’s focus is to help you experience a safe, warm and non-judgemental environment, in which, you are guided to understand yourself more and to safely establish connections with your body and emotions.

Shen has two years' experience working in the mental health industry where she provided physical and psychological support to people with mental health issues and people who are neurodivergent.

Merin Mathew, BACP

Merin is currently working towards an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy through the University of Derby and is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Merin is guided by and works in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. She values empathetic understanding and is keen to provide a non-judgemental and safe therapeutic space for her clients, to support their personal growth and goals.

Merin weaves together three therapeutic modalities; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) and Attachment Theory (AT) to meet the unique needs of clients in a compassionate manner. 

Merin has volunteered at Tellmi and Shout text service, facilitating the provision of timely support and  interventions to individuals in crisis; and currently works at the Samaritans as a Listening Volunteer. Merin also has 3 years experience in the health and social care sector, working in dementia care and mental health services.

Rachel Walsh, BACP 

Rachel is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is in her final year of a four-year Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, delivered by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and guided by the BACP Ethical Framework. 

Rachel offers a person-centred integrative approach, adapting a range of humanistic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy and Gestalt Theory to suit the individual needs of each client. Rachel is calm, empathic and non-judgemental, and offers a safe, confidential and supportive space for individuals to explore areas or issues which may be affecting them. 

Rachel has worked as a volunteer counsellor with Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire, providing support to individuals who have experienced trauma and crisis. Rachel has also worked for 18 years in the charitable and third sectors, managing projects and supporting individuals of all ages through personal changes and challenges including low self-esteem, depression, bereavement, anger issues and stress/anxiety. She also has extensive experience of working with survivors of domestic violence and childhood abuse.

Louise Brereton, MSc, MBACP

Louise holds an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Couples Therapy. Louise is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follows their guidelines and codes of ethics. 

Louise integrates Person Centred Theory, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), tailored to clients needs. Louise values providing a non judgmental and confidential environment to build a robust therapeutic relationship to facilitate working with individual clients and couples to achieve their goals. Louise will work with you at a pace where you feel comfortable and supported without pressure, to explore your thoughts emotions and experience.

Louise has gained experience working in a range of mental health services including working with addiction in an alcohol and substance misuse rehabilitation centre and within private practices. Louise is experienced in working with a range of complex issues including anxiety, low self esteem, addiction, relationships, depression, self harming, trauma, grief and stress management.
