Sam holds an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Couples Therapy. Sam is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follows their guidelines and codes of ethics. Sam also holds a BSc First Class (Hons) degree in Psychology.

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Sam integrates clinically tested psychological treatments including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Attachment Theory. By combining these approaches every therapy session is tailored to the needs of the individual or couple. Sam has worked within a range of organisational contexts including the charity sector by supporting victims of domestic abuse and supporting disadvantaged and disengaged young people. Sam is experienced in working with a complex range of issues with individuals and couples, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harming, family and relationship issues including infidelity, domestic abuse, grief and loss, eating disorders, body related issues, OCD, addiction, trauma and abuse.

Laura Atkins, BSc (Hons), MSc, MBACP

Laura will work with you in a non-judgemental, safe and supportive environment to help you identify and work towards your goals, at your own pace.

Laura has worked within a range of organisational contexts including private practice, the charity sector and secondary schools. Laura is experienced in working with a complex range of issues, including trauma, sexual abuse and rape, anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bereavement, anger and stress management.

Debra Laking, BACP

Debra is in the final year of level 4 CPCAB Therapeutic Counselling at Derby Adult Learning and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). 

Debra follows person-centred approach, supporting clients to work towards their goals by exploring their thoughts and feelings and offering a safe, confidential space, helping you to make decisions that are right for you. Debra also has an interest in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Existential Therapies.

Debra has 30 years experience of helping people at difficult times in their lives through her work in charity and public service sectors, as a teacher, coach and manager. Debra has provided counselling through Derby Women's Centre and offers compassion and understanding.

Claire Katulushi, BACP

Claire is currently completing her MSc in integrated Counselling and Psychotherapy and is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their guidelines and ethics.

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, Claire uses Attachment Theory, Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in her practice. Claire provides a safe, non judgemental environment to explore your difficulties and gain understanding of your experiences by tailoring her approach to meet your needs.

Claire has four years experience working in end of life care, mental health supported living and mental health hospital settings. During this time she supported service users with various physical and mental diagnoses, prioritising empathy, understanding and safety.

Claire has also provided counselling through Derby Women’s Centre.

Colette Robinson, BACP

Colette is in her final year of Chrysalis level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling practice. This course is accredited by the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). Colette is trained in Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), and also has a strong interest in attachment therapy. Colette is also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Colette uses an integrative, holistic approach to therapy that combines theories and techniques from different therapeutic schools of thought depending on the unique needs of a given client.  

Colette has 15 years experience in health and social care. Her passion is working with people to support them in reaching their goals and therapeutic needs. Colette provides a safe, calm and open space for all of your feelings and thoughts, giving you the time to be heard.

Sarah Gilsenan, BACP

Sarah is in her final year of Therapeutic Counselling and a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Sarah uses Person-Centred Therapy to help clients explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences. The safe, non-judgemental space that Sarah creates enables clients to feel heard and able to work through their difficulties at their own pace.

Sarah has over 15 years experience working in healthcare. During this time she has supported patients undergoing transformative procedures and the impacts of of receiving a long-term health diagnosis. Sarah’s continued professional development enables her to work with a range of issues including domestic abuse, body image and gender identity.
